Calgary Public Library is committed to investigating all sources of funding for the new Central Library project, including:

• The City of Calgary - The Community Investment Fund will provide initial, core funding.  We will seek further support as details of the project and the budget are confirmed.
  
  

• Provincial Government - Support from the Government of Alberta will be sought to enable Calgary Public Library to continue its leadership role among Alberta libraries. Calgary Public Library accounts for 40% of all public library circulation in the province and 41% of all Alberta public library card holders.
  
  

• Federal Government – We will pursue Government of Canada capital funding as granting opportunities become available.
  
  

• Fundraising and Sponsorship - The Calgary Public Library will seek support through corporate and grass roots giving. Opportunities will be provided for naming and sponsorships. A fundraising campaign will invite broad support from all Calgarians: library users, citizens, corporate and community groups.
  
  

• Private Sector Involvement - Where economical and practical, Calgary Public Library will secure
  private sector involvement, including retail opportunities at ground level.
